Sam Whitt received his Ph.D. in political science from Vanderbilt University in 2005. Much of his dissertation research and subsequent scholarship utilizes survey and experimental research on a range of identity-related topics including ethnicity, partisanship, violent conflict, and social movements. His research has been published in a range of journals including the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, British Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, Comparative Politics, Journal of Peace Research, Journal of Conflict Resolution, International Studies Quarterly, and Perspectives on Politics among others.
When he is not teaching or working on research, he is usually spending time with his two sons, Henry and Andrew, who also make periodic campus appearances.
