Robert Tillman, a native of Thomasville, NC, is a passionate servant leader who completed his undergraduate studies at High Point University. He holds an M.S. in Adult Education with a concentration in Higher Education from North Carolina A&T State University and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at High Point University, where he has also obtained certifications in Education Leadership & Organizational Development and Higher Education Administration.
After reconnecting with HPU as a Student Success Coach. In his most recent position as a Career Advisor in the Office of Career & Professional Development, he played a crucial role in educating and empowering students to effectively apply their experiential learning to the professional world. Working closely with students, Robert provided comprehensive support throughout their career journey, including career planning, graduate school searches, resume building, interview preparation, and more. In his current role as the Director of the Bonner Leader Program, Robert is driven by a deep passion for helping others pursue and achieve their personal and educational aspirations through service. This opportunity allows him to directly impact adult scholars, assisting them in advancing academically, gaining valuable community service experience, and developing leadership skills. Moreover, he aims to cultivate meaningful relationships with non-profit organizations, stimulate civic engagement and responsibility, and promote the significance of service and philanthropy in higher education. Through his efforts, Robert seeks to expand the program’s impact in Greater High Point and foster a culture of service and social responsibility.
He proudly embraces his role as a father to his daughter and actively contributes to the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He has held multiple leadership positions within the fraternity and currently serves as the undergraduate advisor for the Pi Theta Chapter at HPU. Furthermore, he is a Certified Life Coach and a Certified Mental Health First Aid Responder.
