Mrs. Leah Carper, formerly an English teacher at Northern Guilford High School in Guilford County, was named the 2022 Burroughs Wellcome Fund North Carolina Teacher of the Year. One of her goals is to advocate for people to become teachers. Mrs. Carper wants people to know that being a teacher is exciting, fun, and rewarding.
