ROTC

High Point University is a proud member of both Air Force ROTC Detachment 605 and the Army ROTC Aggie Battalion, hosted at North Carolina A&T State University (NCAT). As a cadet, you’ll be dual-enrolled at both HPU and NCAT, giving you full access to military training while pursuing your degree at HPU. 

Detachment 605 and the Aggie Battalion are part of a larger ROTC consortium in the Greater Greensboro Area, which includes: 

  • High Point University 
  • Wake Forest University 
  • Elon University 
  • University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) 
  • Winston Salem State University (WSSU) 
  • Bennett College 
  • Greensboro College  
  • Salem College 
  • Guilford College 
  • Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) 

HPU cadets consistently stand out as high performers, bringing a strong work ethic, leadership, willingness, and a positive outlook to every challenge! 

Recent outcomes include: 

  • Jaxon Willis (AFROTC): Selected for a pilot slot in the United States Air Force. He is currently undergoing training.  
  • Alex Foxx (AFROTC): Earned an Air Force scholarship to attend medical school. 
  • Stephen Casey (Army ROTC): Commissioned as an Officer in the Cybersecurity Branch of the U.S. Army.
