I'm Constance Marino. I am from Livingston, New Jersey. I graduated High Point University in 2023 with a degree in accounting.

I currently live in the New York metropolitan area working at Ernst & Young as a forensic integrity services senior.

I originally found out about High Point University through my family. My older brother decided to tour this school. A year later, it was my turn to start touring colleges. I entertained the idea and went on a tour of High Point University and later applied.

When I came to Presidential Scholars weekend, I was interviewed by faculty and I met with students. I also had the opportunity to listen to President Qubein speak which really made me realize this caring and supportive environment that High Point had.

I knew I was going to feel comfortable and have the opportunity to grow and succeed.

After committing to High Point, my parents and I discussed considering Summer Advantage. Thought it would be a great opportunity to spend some time on campus and get a few extra credits.

Summer Advantage was full of not only events and opportunities to meet the other students, and the days and weeks went so quick, but gave me so many opportunities to explore and connect.

I truly recommend Summer Advantage to every student that's going to attend High Point University.

I came in as an accounting major. In my fall semester, I met with my success coach. We worked together to find different organizations to help me get involved with on campus.

Immediately, I was welcomed into the caring environment with people who wanted to support me.

I also had the opportunity as a junior in Professor Davis's class to participate in a day with the IRS criminal investigation unit. Seeing how they work through their dayto-day, the experience definitely opened my eyes to different careers and just specific roles to look at postgrad.

All accounting majors at HPU have the opportunity to participate in the meet the firms event every fall here on campus. This event provides students with an opportunity to meet with different professionals from firms including big four recruiters.

The resources that are here at High Point, the mentors, they want you to succeed. They want to listen and they want to allow your path to be shaped in the way that you want it to be.

From the time I was a freshman, I was an administrative assistant in the office for student financial planning. Carmen was a tremendous mentor as my first boss.

A couple times a week, I went to work in this office where I was greeted with Carmen's friendly face, always there to check in and make sure I was doing okay. She recognized my hard work and determination to find opportunities to better myself.

Even security at HPU was especially friendly to me, especially Sergeant Germaine Artist.

Germaine was always a friendly face. He always was there for me, wanting to be that extra layer of support and making sure I felt safe and connected at all times.

The Office of Career and Professional Development supported me through constant feedback on resumes and cover letters as I tailored them to specific applications. They also hold so many events throughout the year that are so important to go to.

Through the Philips School of Business, I was able to connect with an alumni at Ernst & Young in the forensic integrity services practice.

This ultimately helped me land my job and stay connected.

The God family country values of High Point University aligned very closely to my families as well. This made me know that I would be surrounded by others who believed in the same values as I was raised.

After 4 years at High Point University, I saw a transformation within myself. Crossing that stage, I was so much more confident than when I walked in as a freshman.

I was comfortable entering the workforce with professionalism and I was prepared to hold conversations and sit down with high-level executives at any moment.
