I'm a 2014 graduate from High Point University. I majored in Business Administration. I'm originally from Long Island, New York. Today I work for Google as a human resources practitioner.

My time at High Point University was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I came here as a freshman, I got involved on campus. I was a member of the University Ambassador program. I was a member of the University Diversity Program, also campus advisor and a peer mentor as well for students. And I got involved on campus and got to meet a lot of great people that became friends back then and even more closer friends in closed networks today.

During my freshman year, I was interviewing for my first internship with JetBlue. I remember vividly sitting in the lobby for my interview, just waiting. I got a text message just before my interview, and it wasn't my mom – it wasn't my dad. It was my professor who wanted to make sure that I had prepared myself. I knew all the content for the interview questions. The week before, we had been practicing interview students and she wanted to make sure that I was prepared for that interview. That set me apart and that gave me the confidence to go into my interview and nail it.

While at JetBlue, I worked in their HR compliance department where I got to build programs for people with disabilities and Veterans, which was really, really inspiring work. After three and a half years of working at JetBlue, I was able to join Facebook and join their HR compliance team where I was able to continue to build those similar programs at JetBlue but had a much larger scale.

So when I think about the skills that are important for the job that I do today, I think communication is, you know, top right. As a program manager or a project manager, my job is to communicate on behalf of all the stakeholders of my projects.

In Dr. Qubein's president seminar, you learn the fundamentals of communication, and that has helped me with my current job. Day in and day out, I spend a majority of my time communicating to different stakeholders to keep them updated on where we are with our projects and our milestones. That is just one of the life skills that I was able to take and apply from Dr. Green seminar directly into my job.

The biggest piece of advice that I offer students that are coming in is take advantage of all the resources.

One of the beautiful things about High Point University is that you get to do all these different things in a safe, contained environment. And I just encourage people to try and do anything that they can within the four plus years.

Choosing to be extraordinary to me is a lifestyle. It's a mindset. To me, it's those little details that you put into your everyday work and into your surrounding environment.

Similar to campus, there are little things around campus that are built with intention. That, as part of the bigger picture, mean have that much impact.

So every day in my life, I incorporate those little things. That maybe someone might notice, but the moment that they do, it clicks. And that is what extraordinary means to me. And that's how I apply it.
