High Point University has lowered flags to half-staff to honor North Carolina Congressman Howard Coble, who passed away on Tuesday. Flags will remain lowered through sunset on Thursday.
Coble served North Carolina’s 6th Congressional District from 1985 to 2015 and became the state’s longest-serving Republican U.S. congressman.
Several High Point University students interned for Congressman Coble over the years, and he also visited campus for several panels and presentations. See a photo from one of those visits below. Coble was also honored at HPU’s 2014 Annual Prayer Breakfast with a key to High Point University.
