Class of 2016 Outcomes: Courtney Smith Lands Job at Coca-Cola


With another successful commencement behind us, recent High Point University graduates are preparing to commence prestigious career paths around the world at Fortune 500 companies, international service programs, public school systems, top-tier law, medical and graduate school programs, and many other esteemed organizations thanks to their journey at HPU. Here’s a glimpse of one extraordinary senior from the Class of 2016:

Name: Courtney Smith

Hometown: Wooster, Ohio

Major: Smith graduated with a B.S.B.A. in Business Administration, with a minor in Marketing, on May 7.

Post-graduation plans: Smith accepted a position as an Inside Sales Representative at Coca-Cola Bottling Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina. In her position, Smith will sell product to potential customers, including businesses and restaurants.

How HPU helped you get there: “HPU helped me by encouraging me and pushing me to help me reach my highest potential. I used the resources available from the school to help me with my resume. Career & Professional Development also gave me all the tools necessary to find a job and helped me with making future connections.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Professor Randy Moser influenced me to do sales by encouraging the fact that I had a natural presence that people would like. He helped me realize that I could do something that I would be really good at while also helping me see my true passion for sales.”

Most impactful moment at HPU: “Getting my first job and realizing that by getting my degree from HPU I had been given opportunities that without my degree I never would have gotten.”

Advice for underclassmen: “Take advantage of Career Services, because its never to early to start looking for an internship that will help you land your first job!”
