HPU’s newest cohort of students represents a wide variety of academic achievement, service, backgrounds, cultures and geographic locations. Vernon Lindo, one member of the Class of 2020, has a passion for civic engagement that has already awarded him prestigious opportunities. Below, discover how he plans to make the most out of his time at HPU:
Name: Vernon Lindo
Hometown: Celebration, Florida
High school attended: Windermere Preparatory School in Windermere, Florida
Accomplishments: Lindo has volunteered extensively with the Republican Party of Florida and Americans for Prosperity, including creating a congressional campaign website at age 13, canvassing neighborhoods in the Orlando area, and conducting surveys of voters’ political leanings. Since then, he’s worked on multiple political campaigns. He also recently published an op-ed in the congressional newspaper “The Hill.”

Why you chose HPU: “HPU has a proven track record with obtaining internships and jobs for their students. The dedication to experiential learning and the Honors Program will prepare for future studies and employment so naturally it is what sold me on the school.”
