Internship Profile: Jackson Inchalik Interns in IT

Name: Jackson Inchalik

Hometown: Guilford, Connecticut

Year: Class of 2020

Major: Computer science and mathematics with a minor in Spanish

Internship: Inchalik joins Regeneron Pharmaceuticals as an IT analytics intern this summer in Albany, New York. He is developing mobile applications to enhance business functions and efficiency and working with Cloud Computing with Amazon Web Services products to integrate them with Microsoft products and automate business tasks and distribute data.

How HPU helped you get there: “The networking I’ve done at HPU has helped me endlessly get my foot in the door and receive the opportunity to interview with top companies. The communication and presentation skills I’ve learned both inside and outside the classroom helped me put my best foot forward during each opportunity. The Office of Career and Professional Development helped me fine-tune my resume to best reflect all of my experience.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU: “While not a professor for my major, Dr. Nathan Hedman helps me tremendously with my growth both academically and as a person. He teaches me to move past the flashy and to focus on being direct and concise. He encourages me to bring enthusiasm and analysis to all my activities, and from my first day of class freshman year to now, he’s someone I continually look up to.”

What has your internship experience been like, and how is it preparing you for your future?: “My internship has pushed me outside of my comfort zone by challenging me with assignments I don’t always feel qualified for but taking them on has taught me self-sufficiency, bolstered my confidence and given me the ability to investigate and teach myself. I’ve gained incredible experience by practicing my presentation skills with top executives and coworkers within my IT analytics department.”
