How HPU helped you get there: “HPU provides many opportunities to get involved on campus outside of the classroom. I’ve gained great experience by having a key role in the operations of our intramural sports. I was the president of the club baseball team which has transferred in my role at the MLB. Becoming treasurer of my fraternity, the Kappa Alpha order, has allowed me to budget while improving my Microsoft Excel skills. I’ve also been a part of HPU’s sports broadcasting club, SportsLink. It’s great to have the knowledge of what goes on during a TV broadcast in today’s world of sports. HPU has surrounded me and many others with great resources, people and experiences.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Professor Steve Alberts has helped me gain the confidence to conduct myself professionally. Whether it’s resume building with him and the Office of Career and Professional Development or always being there when I need him, he goes out of his way to make sure I’m always on the right path. His teaching style is very hands on, and I’ve already gained many professional skills from his business communications class.”
What has your internship experience been like, and how is it preparing you for your future?: “It’s been an awesome experience being able to work hands-on with MLB executives. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge, networked with some outstanding people, and worked on multiple projects for the future of baseball. This internship has allowed me to get my foot in the door of a very competitive industry.”
