The HPU Ice Skating Rink!
Looking for fun, frost and friends? HPU’s ice skating rink is the place for you! Located just below the Millis Center, find a winter escape right in the heart of campus. Complimentary skates are available for checkout, and hours allow for daylight skating or taking a spin around the rink under the sparkle of lights strung overhead!
Light it up!
We’ve taken already great outdoor gathering spots and brightened things up with festive string lights to create the perfect space to meet with friends in the evenings. The Slane patio and patio just outside HPU’s popular Butterfly Cafe courtyard are now bright and welcoming in the evening. You can also find time to hang out in HPU igloos! Fun igloo domes create a covered space to enjoy popular seating outside of Slane Student Center and Cottrell Hall during winter weather! Bonus: Visit the igloos at night to see them lined with lights.
Meet Around the Heat
They’re available year-round, but during the winter months, the HPU fire pits are especially cozy. You can find fire pits on the Slane patio, outside Cottrell Hall and the fire pit at the center of HPU’s Hayworth Park Island!
Midweek Meet Up Food Trucks!
Each week, HPU hosts a complimentary local food truck plus music for students at rotating times and locations throughout campus! Each week brings an assortment of unique treats. Students also have an opportunity to connect with a variety of Weekly Food Truck “guest hosts” representing different departments, offices and organizations that call HPU home. HPU’s Campus Activities Team regularly hosts winter-themed events and opportunities for engagement such as a Holiday Hot Cocoa Bar, a Winter Wonderland party, craft nights and trivia pajama parties!
