How HPU helped you get there: “The caring professors, advisors and meaningful experiences I had at HPU prepared me for success in medical school. The Natural Sciences Fellows Program emphasized learning through lab work and research, allowing me to apply the lessons I learned in the classroom. My advisors and professors pushed me and encouraged my curiosity — they believed I could accomplish my goals. Off campus, I was involved in HPU’s Community Writing Center and Community Clinic, where I worked with those in need. My career advisor in the Office of Career and Professional Development also helped with my personal statements, essays and applications to medical school.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Dr. Kristin Ackerman and Dr. Michael Grider helped me in my journey at HPU — they served as professors, advisors and friends. They always believed in me and pushed for my success. I am thankful for all of the faculty and staff at HPU.”
Most impactful moment at HPU: “Meeting my lifelong friends. The friends I made at HPU provided the best environment to grow and learn while having fun and being able to relax. Founding the Chess Club with Jourdan Fowler led to many memorable experiences and brought together an amazing group of people.”
