Internship: Taylor works as a clinical research and operations intern for Labcorp, where she helps the company answer pressing questions in health and medicine. She works with pharmaceutical companies on up-and-coming drugs and medicinal products that are newly discovered, in clinical trials with human subjects, undergoing FDA approval or being manufactured and marketed.
How HPU helped you get there:
“Without HPU’s Office of Career and Professional Development, I simply wouldn’t have the opportunities I do today. With constant support from the staff, particularly Emily Long, senior career advisor, all of my professional documents will continue to be their absolute best. Aside from my portfolio, I was prepared for multiple rounds of competitive interviews with the guidance of my professors, mentors and advocates at HPU.”

“Dr. Nathan Hedman, associate professor of English and director of the Honors Scholars Program, has been my most impactful mentor since the summer before my freshman year. His classes are unique and challenge my way of thinking. Dr. Hedman has advised me in my professional journey, cared for me as a student and advocated for me throughout my years so far at HPU.”
What has your internship experience been like, and how is it preparing you for your future?:
“As an intern, I am learning so many new things every day. Even though I am working remotely, I have met company executives, worked with large pharmaceutical companies that Labcorp partners with and collaborated with my cohort of fellow interns from across the globe. While my previous experience consisted of hands-on research, my internship this summer is allowing me to learn about the corporate side of pharmaceuticals. Additionally, it is connecting me with highly influential individuals in my field of interest and allowing me to network with them.”
