How HPU helped you get there:
“HPU’s emphasis on taking ownership of your success and being an advocate for yourself was instrumental in my ability to secure this internship. HPU taught me to be a self-starter and go after what I want. I realized that I had to put myself out there to gain new opportunities. I utilized the Office of Career and Professional Development to conduct mock interviews during my application process with Wasserman, which helped me prepare and gain confidence. I was invited to a few lunches with my coworkers, and my experience in HPU’s fine-dining learning labs taught me the importance of keeping my phone tucked away and remaining professional.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU:
“Dr. Bobby Hayes, chair and professor of the practice of journalism, is my most impactful mentor at HPU. He has provided constant support in my professional and academic endeavors during my time at HPU. He has pushed me to be the best that I can be both inside and outside of the classroom.”
What has your internship experience been like, and how is it preparing you for your future?:
“My internship has been nothing short of incredible. I was able to research and work on marketing endeavors for entities such as the NWSL, WNBA and NBA. The experience that I gained during this internship will allow me to become a more competitive and well-rounded applicant for future jobs.”
