Dr. Sarah Rhodes joined the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy at High Point University in July 2021 as Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences. She brings extensive experience from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy, where she served as Fellow of Curricular Innovation for two years before advancing to Director of Education and Learning Innovations for an additional two years.
Dr. Rhodes completed her PGY1 Community Residency at Duquesne University’s Center for Pharmacy Care, where she delivered comprehensive patient care through a pharmacist-run clinic. Her clinical services included chronic disease state management, health screenings, immunizations, and international travel vaccine consultations for both campus and community populations. Her scholarly work focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning, implementation science, and change management, with particular emphasis on assessment methodologies and curricular design. In her clinical practice, Dr. Rhodes collaborates with Caring Partners International, providing pharmaceutical services during medical mission trips to Central America while also serving as a consultant and board member for pharmacy-related initiatives.
Dr. Rhodes’ commitment to pharmacy began in high school, driven by her passion for mathematics and science. During her fellowship, she discovered a deep enthusiasm for education, finding particular fulfillment in facilitating students’ comprehension of the foundational principles underlying their didactic coursework. Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Rhodes enjoys exploring national parks and spending quality time with her family and dogs. She also contributes to her community as a church trustee and choir member.
