Make Researching and Studying Easy with the Kahn Law Library

The Kahn Law Library is your one stop shop for all your study needs!

LibGuides

Whether you are in a Contracts or Evidence course, the library has created custom LibGuides for most 1L courses and many 2L courses offered at the Kenneth F. Kahn School of Law. The library also has LibGuides to help you navigate various legal topics like Sports Law and tips for research strategies and citations. All of the library’s LibGuides can be found here.

Databases

The Kahn Law Library has compiled a list of all the databases and resources you need to conduct basic and complex legal research. This includes Fastcase, the US Code, the North Carolina General Statutes, and more. This list is divided by jurisdiction to help you find the resources most relevant to you. You can find these legal databases here.

Catalog

Need something specific? Start with the library catalog, which lets you find books, journal articles, and other materials across the HPU system. Be sure to use the “Kahn Law Library” filter to narrow results to law collections. This filter can be found on the left-hand column after the initial search. It is important to note that Westlaw and Lexis resources do not appear in the catalog.

Study Rooms

The library has study rooms available for focused group work or solo sessions. These spaces are ideal for writing briefs, prepping for exams, or collaborating on projects. You can reserve a study room, both the ones inside the library and in the hallway, here.

Ask A Librarian

The librarians here at the Kahn Law Library are here to help with all your research and study needs. Whether you need to find a book or want guidance on where to begin, the library is here to help. One way you can get help is by submitting a Contact or Research Request Form. If you prefer to reach out to a librarian directly, their emails are available here.
