Ask a Librarian Terms

Terms of Service

“Ask a Librarian” contact forms (“Contact Us” and “Research Request Form”) may be used by any member of the High Point University community, but are particularly intended for law school patrons, including faculty, staff, and students.

We will try to acknowledge and answer your question or respond to your comment within two business days. The librarians will provide accurate, relevant, and current information to the best of our ability. However, we are not liable for any errors. If we cannot answer your question or are unable to provide resources or answers, we will attempt to refer you to other answers or explain why we are unable to answer the question.

We will not provide answers or explanations to questions or comments which:

  • have the potential to breach confidentiality with another patron;
  • ask us to provide very specific answers to course assignments, unless it is a research question you are requesting assistance with;
  • involve giving you personal advice about something;
  • ask for legal advice (though we may point you to legal resources);
  • are inappropriate or offensive.
