Have you ever wanted to print from your phone or tablet using Follow-Me-Print only to find out that FMP is not supported by mobile devices? Until recently, FMP has only supported Apple and Windows laptops when it comes to printing on the go. However, it is now possible for you to print from your Apple, Android, or other mobile device. This new service is called “Mobility Print” and it makes printing with Follow-Me Print more convenient than ever. In this blog, we will tell you everything you need to know to set up Mobility Print on your mobile device.
Where to Start
To begin the process, you will want to go to the IT Help Desk website, which you can find here. Once you are there, login using your HPU credentials. This will take you where you need to be for the next step.
Once you are logged in, use the search bar in the middle of the screen to search “Mobility Print.” You should see a screen like this:
Click on the link that says “Mobility Print” to get started.
Choosing Your Device
Once you click the link to Mobility Print, it will bring you to a screen where you can choose which device you want to setup to Mobility Print. This is the page where you will find specific instructions to install Mobility Print on your mobile device. Devices supported include phones, tablets, and computers like Chromebooks.
Once you choose either link to set up your device, follow the instructions provided by IT. Once you have followed the instructions to install the driver, print as you normally would; remember to use your HPU credentials any time you are prompted to do so. If you are unsure about which device you want to setup, you can choose one of the following icons at the bottom of each instruction page to lead you to the correct set of instructions.
