High Point University Library Locations & Hours

The High Point University Libraries consist of three physical locations: The Herman & Louise Smith Library, The Martha Luck Comer Learning Commons in the R.G. Wanek Center, and The Stout School of Education Children’s Library. These locations house our circulating book and media collections as well as library staff to help with locating items and conducting research.

Herman & Louise Smith Library

The center of academic life, Smith Library is a 50,000-square-foot facility containing 140,000 books, 10,000 films, 3 computer labs, a media lab, and archives.

Martha Luck Comer Learning Commons

Located in the R. G. Wanek Center, the Martha Luck Comer Learning Commons offers a large study space with comfy chairs and desks for quiet individual study, as well as computers and printers.

Children's Library at the Stout SOE

This space in the Stout School of Education houses a children’s book collection, teacher resources, and K-12 textbooks.

Satellite Collections

In addition to the HPU Library locations, we maintain satellite collections across campus, including: The Bassett Furniture Library Collection in Norton Hall, School of Art & Design; The Qubein Collection in the Qubein School of Communication; and The Congdon Pharmacy Collection in the Pharmacy Resource Lounge. These collections are available for use in the buildings but cannot be checked out for use or leave the buildings.

Bassett Furniture Collection at Norton Hall

The Bassett Furniture Library in Norton Hall is a collection of high-quality resources in the area of furniture styles and industry. This small, highly focused collection is referenced by furniture and design students as they do coursework in their field.

Qubein Collection at the School of Communication

The beautifully appointed "Red Room" in the School of Communication houses a collection of leadership books, many autographed by the authors, donated by Dr. Nido Qubein.

Pharmacy Collection at the Congdon Resource Lounge

This is a small collection of pharmacy-specific resources. The lounge also features over 150 eBook cards as well as study and group collaboration space.

Health Sciences Resource Hub

In addition to the Resource Lounge at the Congdon School of Pharmacy, our health sciences programs are served by an online Health Sciences Resource Hub. Here you will find databases and research guides specific to our health sciences programs.

Kenneth F. Kahn Law Library

High Point University also hosts a Law Library in the Kenneth F. Kahn School of Law. The 8,000+ volume law library is administratively separate from the HPU Libraries for accreditation purposes and is intended for use only by students and faculty in the law school.
