Who Are We?

What is Psi Chi?

Founded in 1929, Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, promotes scholarship excellence and advances psychology.

Lifetime Membership is open to undergraduate and graduate students, transfer students, full-time and part-time faculty members, and alumni. Individuals become members by joining their local Psi Chi chapter.

Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Psychological Science (APS).

Our Chapter’s Organizational Goals
Share the field of psychology with HPU and the greater community, represent the student body of the psychology department, promote academic involvement for students within the psychology department, share academic resources with students, and increase involvement.

We host grad school workshops, meet and greets, internship and research panels, information sessions, the Find your Flow Event, and general member meetings.

Our Podcast
High Point University’s Psi Chi Executive Board dives into all things psychology! Join us as we interview professors, mental health professionals, and explore diverse psychology subfields. Each episode features a fun theme, a unique guest, and a specialized topic.

Membership Requirements
Our GPA and academic requirements state that you must have completed 3 semesters of college, fall in the top 35% of your class, have a 3.0 GPA within psychology and overall, and have completed 9 credits of psychology courses. The induction Fee is $85.
