Before coming to High Point:
- Be aware that all ROTC events are at NC A&T in Greensboro, NC
- This is about a 25 min drive
- Always keep your Tuesday and Thursday afternoons open because those are ROTC days
- Hit the gym because the program is Physical Fitness intensive

Be prepared to take most of your classes at HPU on Mondays, Wednesdays, FridaysIf you go over 18 credit hours, there’s about a $750 feeIf you come in with a scholarship, ROTC expects you to come in committed and ready to go
- Also called the MS1 year
- Start going to PT (physical training) Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday mornings at 5:50 am at A&T. This will continue all 4 years
- The MS1 class is Thursdays 2:00 to 2:50 at A&T (1 credit)
- The class is an introduction to Military life and expectations

Lab is Thursdays 3:00 to 6:00 (1 credit)Must fill out the Consortium Form through the registrar’s office (every semester)Start on your 104-R (planned academic worksheet) to plan out your 4 years at HPUMust get physical readiness form signed by Student Health before September

- The MS2 class is Tuesdays 1:00 to 2:50 at A&T (2 credits)
- Lab is the same day and time as MS1 year (1 credit)
- Some leadership roles may be assigned

The class is a little bit faster paced and achieve a better understanding of what is expected of officersThe different branches of the military are introduced and cadets think about what they will want to branch
- Also called MS3 year
- MS3 class is Tuesdays 3:00 to 5:50 at A&T (3 credits)
- The lab is the same time and day (1 credit)
- This is the biggest year. Basically your career rides on the outcome of this year
- Will pretty much always be in a leadership position ranging from Squad leader to platoon sergeant to platoon leader.
- Learn how to plan and execute PT sessions and will be expected to do so multiple times.
- Also called MS4 year
- The MS4 class is Tuesdays 3:00 to 6:00 at A&T (3 credits)
- Lab is the same time and day (1 credit)
- Tasked with overseeing all other MS years

Teaches the MS3’s how to conduct PT sessions.Will be assigned component and branch throughout fall semester
- To get contracted or a scholarship, the minimum APFT score is 180, but a competitive score is about 270
- 2 mins of pushups, 2 mins of sit-ups, 2 mile run
- Standards depend on age and sex
- Can be found by googling “APFT standards chart”

In the process of transitioning to the ACFTMore full-body exercises with a strong focus on leg strengthHarder than APFT
- There are many different types of scholarships including the ROTC 3-year, ROTC 4-year, and Minute Man scholarship.
- Slightly more competitive than contracts
- Same standards as contracted cadets

- ROTC is a big competition to get contracted
- Signing a contract means after commissioning you owe the Army 3 to 8 years of service, depending on your contract
- Comes with a monthly stipend
- Once contracted, it is expected of you to attend every ROTC event and be able to maintain the standards
- Minimum of 2.5 GPA
- Minimum of 180 APFT score
