This badge was designed by the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) to empower students to develop essential research, communication, and career-readiness skills that prepare them for graduate study, the industry workforce, and lifelong learning. Complete this form below with your HPU email to receive the unique HPU access code. You only use this code once to access HigherEd+’s HPU landing page and set up your login information. Video Tutorial

To create your account and access the program, please follow the steps below. A video tutorial walking through these access instructions is also available.

  1. Visit the following URL: https://bit.ly/CUR-HPU
  2. Click the orange ENROLL NOW button.
  3. On the checkout page, you may initially see a listed price. Please do not be concerned. Enter the access code you received after submitting the form in the “Enter Coupon Code” field. This will apply a 100% discount for your 1-year access. After the coupon code is applied, your total will update to $0. No credit card or billing information will be required. NOTE: This coupon code may only be used once per learner to set up your account. Your account is intended for your individual use only, so please do not share your login credentials with others.
  4. Complete the enrollment form on the HigherEd+ landing page and create your username and password. Please be sure to use your High Point University email address (@highpoint.edu) when creating your account. This program is only available to HPU undergraduates.
  5. Click the green checkout button to finish creating your account. Although the button may say “Pay Now,” there is no associated cost as long as the coupon code has been applied and your total is $0.
  6. Once your account is created, place your cursor over My Account in the top-right corner of the screen and select My Courses from the dropdown menu.
  7. On the My Courses page, you will see the CUR courses and the additional HigherEd+ courses available to you. If you are working toward the CUR Undergraduate Researchers Digital Badge, please complete the 12 CUR courses listed on this page. NOTE: You can browse courses by scrolling through the page, using the search bar, or using Ctrl + F to search for a specific course title.
  8. When you are ready to begin a course, click the orange COMPLETE NOW button. Each course includes closed captioning and is divided into chapters, so you can move through the training in sections. If course materials are available, you can download them by clicking the teal “Download Course Materials” button that appears below the course video.
  9. To receive a Certificate of Completion for an individual course, you must finish viewing the course in its entirety, pass the associated quiz with a 70% or higher, and complete the brief evaluation form. Once those steps are completed, your Certificate of Completion will be automatically generated and stored in your account. NOTE: You may rewatch course videos after completing them. However, you may only retake a quiz if you do not pass it. Once you pass a quiz, that quiz attempt is final.
  10. To earn the CUR Undergraduate Researchers Digital Badge Microcredential, complete all 12 CUR courses and pass their associated quizzes. Once you have successfully completed the full set of required courses, you will receive an automated email with your digital badge.

You can then showcase the badge on your social media profiles, professional website, and/or e-mail signature.
