Class of 2016 Outcomes: Nicole Chambless Hired by Aerotek

With Commencement just around the corner, High Point University seniors are preparing to commence prestigious career paths around the world at Fortune 500 companies, international service programs, public school systems, top-tier law, medical and graduate school programs, and many other esteemed organizations thanks to their journey at HPU. Here’s a glimpse of one extraordinary senior from the Class of 2016:

Name: Nicole Chambless

Hometown: El Dorado Hills, California

Major: Chambless will graduate with a B.S.B.A. in Business Administration, with a concentration in Global Commerce and a minor in Philosophy, on May 7.

Post-graduation plans: Chambless accepted a position as a Recruiter at Aerotek, a staffing agency in Charlotte, North Carolina.

How HPU helped you get there: “High Point University has helped me tremendously when it comes to my future goals. The small class sizes ensured I received a personalized education and gave me amazing opportunities that I would not have found at any other university. Yet what really makes HPU unique is the relationships the students build with their professors. Through my relationships with my professors, I have found that no ambition or aspiration is too high to reach and that life lesson is one that will stick with me throughout my professional career.

I also greatly utilized the Career & Professional Development resources at HPU throughout all four years. I landed my first internship my sophomore year with Aflac by attending the Career & Internship Expo. They have also improved my LinkedIn account by providing speakers as well as meaningful feedback that got me to the next level above my competition.“

Most impactful mentor at HPU: “While I have had multiple mentors at HPU, Dr. Premalata Sundaram has been my most impactful mentor. She was my professor for the global business Maymester to Argentina and Chile. In and out of the classroom she showed a passion for the business world that helped me reaffirm that business was the right major for me. Even after our Maymester trip, she would still have conversations with me on campus and it has showed me how much she truly cares for her students and wants to see them succeed.“

Most impactful moment at HPU: “My most impactful moment at HPU was when I landed my job at Aerotek. I take great pride in my ability to work hard and to see that hard work pay off was extremely rewarding. All my time at HPU was working towards that moment, and now I have found a job that I am passionate about. I cannot wait to see what the future holds.”

Advice for underclassmen: “Get out there and get out of your comfort zone. Once you are out of your comfort zone, everything else gets a bit easier.“
