How HPU helped you get there: “HPU gave me my first experience in the sports industry when I got a student job in the athletic department as a sophomore. That experience and skills I’ve gained in that job experience, along with knowledge gained in the classroom prepared me for this opportunity. Freshman year, I came in undecided and the Office of Career and Professional Development, through a number of assessments and conversations, helped guide me towards the decision to major in business. They have always been available with open arms for resume reviewing and anything else I might’ve needed through the internship search process.”
Most Impactful Mentor: “My most impactful mentor at HPU has been my supervisor in the athletic department, Joe Templin, the assistant director of athletic communications. Joe has taught me many of the necessary skills that gave me an edge up over other applicants and have been really applicable in my internship. Scott Wojciechowski has also been a great resource and friend through the hardship of losing a parent during my time at HPU.”
What has your internship experience been like, and how is it preparing you for your future?: “My internship experience has been very fulfilling. It is a very hands-on, do the work experience. It’s very active, and the opportunities in both experience and networking have certainly opened up future work possibilities in the industry.”
