“My most impactful mentor at HPU was Dr. Brett Woods, associate professor of biology. Dr. Woods immediately saw my potential as a biology student. He understood the challenges of being a student from an underrepresented demographic in the sciences. I am forever grateful for his mentorship and authenticity.”
Most impactful moment at HPU:
“My most impactful moment at HPU was serving as president of the Spanish Club and leading the induction ceremony for Sigma Delta Pi, the National Spanish Honor Society.”
How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success?
“HPU’s inspiring campus motivated me to be the best version of myself. Every inch of campus is inviting and special, from the gardens to the fountains. I valued encouraging conversations with HPU professors and staff. I immediately found a home at HPU and am forever grateful to be an alumna.”
What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success?
“HPU helped me build lifelong connections. I also learned the importance of seeking out opportunities and being able to take risks as a leader. HPU taught me to always be extraordinary.”
Advice for underclassmen:
“HPU provides you with the resources you need to have limitless possibilities. President Nido Qubein’s First-Year Seminar on Life Skills is a perfect example. His guidance changed my life, as his wisdom is more valuable than gold. Try your best, create meaningful connections, and have an open mind. ”
