The mission of the Office of Continuing Dental Education (CDE) is to improve the knowledge base and advance the practice of dentistry through quality educational activities. By offering activities that feature current research in science and technology, we help dentists and dental team members advance their knowledge and skills and promote innovations in the field.

The Office of CDE serves a global constituency, including Workman School of Dental Medicine faculty, staff, and dental professionals in North Carolina, the nation, and beyond. We are dedicated to bringing best practices and excellence to all that we serve and transforming dentistry for better health.

Payment and Confirmation

Full payment of the registration fee is due at the time of enrollment for all activities. Upon enrollment, you will receive an email that will include directions, parking information, registration time, and a receipt for payment. You are encouraged to register early to ensure receipt of your confirmation letter prior to the activity.

Limited Attendance Activities

Some activities have limited capacity and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that special registration and cancellation policies may apply.

Our Continuing Education Legacy
At the Workman School of Dental Medicine, we are committed to advancing lifelong learning in dentistry. Explore some of our recent continuing education programs below to see the depth and diversity of topics, instructors, and learning experiences we offer.
The Workman School of Dental Medicine reserves the right to cancel any continuing education activity that does not meet minimum enrollment requirements. Courses may also be canceled if the University closes due to severe weather, natural disasters, or other unforeseen emergencies.

 

Cancellations and Refunds
Each continuing education course has a designated cancellation deadline and associated fee. Please refer to the specific course details for exact dates and amounts.

 

Cancellations must be received in writing either by phone (336) 951-7892 or by email to [email protected]. The cancellation request must include the name of the activity, the name of the person registered, the name of the person requesting the cancellation, and the reason for the cancellation. No refunds will be issued after the cancellation date given for each specific activity.
The Workman School of Dental Medicine Continuing Dental Education Program is not responsible for refunding any portion of the registration fee due to emergencies, unexpected events, or circumstances beyond our control once the cancellation deadline has passed. Payments made by credit card will be refunded to the original card used for payment.

 

Course Cancellations or Postponements
The University and the Workman School of Dental Medicine reserve the right to cancel or postpone any course when necessary. In the event of a cancellation or postponement, registration fees will be fully refunded. However, the University and the Workman School of Dental Medicine are not responsible for additional costs incurred by participants, including but not limited to travel, lodging, airfare, rental cars, or other related expenses.
The Workman School of Dental Medicine records participant attendance for all continuing education activities in the school’s secure electronic database. A verification of attendance letter will be provided to each participant within three (3) business days following the conclusion of the course.
Participants are responsible for submitting their continuing education credit information to the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) or other relevant professional organizations, as well as maintaining their own records for licensure renewal purposes.
The Workman School of Dental Medicine is a nationally accredited provider of continuing dental education. Regulations and credit acceptance requirements may vary by state based on current legislation and the policies of individual certifying or licensing organizations. It is the responsibility of each participant to verify acceptance of credit hours with their respective state dental boards, licensing agencies, or professional associations. Participants should consult their regulatory bodies directly with any specific questions.
The Workman School of Dental Medicine advises participants that incorporating new techniques or procedures into clinical practice carries inherent risks, particularly when such techniques have not been accompanied by supervised clinical training or competency assessments as part of the continuing education activity.
As an academic institution, the Workman School of Dental Medicine has a responsibility to share emerging knowledge and advancements in dental science and practice.
