We are Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc.
Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority Inc. is a Latina based but not Latina exclusive organization. Founded at Cornell University in 1988, we have expanded across the country and were founded on High Point University’s campus in 2019.
Being a part of Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority Inc. has provided a with a welcoming community on campus. They promote supporting women all around them and we have seen and experienced firsthand all the love and support they are more than willing to provide to women, whether they are a Hermana or not.
Our mission is to empower women by providing a supporting network dedicated to their personal and professional advancement. Our Hermandad is further advanced by our shared dedication and promotion of public service and cultural awareness, with an emphasis on Latino history, contributions, and experiences. Our ideals are La Comunidad, La Cultura Latina, y La Hermandad.
The Alpha Zeta chapter at High Point University has partnered with the school countless times to promote education on Latino culture. For example, we were able to partner with 1924 Prime to create a Cuban menu for Hispanic Heritage Month. A major project we conduct throughout the school year is to raise money for our First-Generation College Student Scholarship given out every year to a local high school student.
Although we are a young organization, our Hermandad is full of dedicated women who work every day to create a lifetime network of Hermanas dedicated to empowering themselves and their communities.
