Zeta

My name is Toni Cristiano and I am the President of the Delta Gamma chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha at High Point University.

The purpose of our organization is the intensifying of friendship, the fostering of spirit and love, the creation of such sentiments, the performing of such deeds, and the molding of such opinions as will be conductive to the building of a purer and nobler womanhood in the world.

Zeta Tau Alpha was founded in 1989 by nine young women at Longwood University with the intent to create an organization that would create deep connections and uphold strong and noble values. Our nine key values include Lifelong Learning, Leadership, Responsibility, Being Rather than Seeming, Service & Philanthropy, Seeking Understanding that We Might Gain True Wisdom, Humility, Loyalty & Commitment, and Love. Each of these values are instilled in our members, and these values are what each of us live by. Zeta Tau Alpha’s mission is to make a difference in the lives of our members by developing the potential of each individual through innovative programming, which emphasizes leadership development, service to others, academic achievement and continued personal growth for women, with a commitment to friendship and the future based on the sisterhood, values and traditions of the past.

Our chapter has an incredible sisterhood and strong bond that has allowed me to build upon my confidence, grow as a leader within the chapter, and outside of the chapter, and lastly, create lifelong friendships that I will hold with me and value forever. Additionally, our Alumnae Chapters allow for our members to stay connected to our organization, to continue to foster connections and friendships, and bring awareness to our philanthropy while continuing to live by our values.

Zeta Tau Alpha’s philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness and the ZTA Foundation was founded in 1954. Our registered trademark is “Think Pink”, and we are national partners with: The American Cancer Society, the National Football League, and Bright Pink. Through holding philanthropy events and collaborating with other Panhellenic Organizations and Interfraternity Council Organizations, our chapter has been able to raise funds for the ZTA Foundation and spread awareness about this terrible disease throughout our campus and throughout our High Point community. Our members are passionate about our philanthropy, and we are constantly working to raise more and more each year, as Zeta Tau Alpha will never stop the fight against Breast Cancer.

Our goal is to connect members through the close bond of sisterhood and to build up a purer and nobler womanhood in the world. This womanhood is made of many individual women and celebrates the uniqueness that each sister brings to our organization. As president of this incredible organization, I feel honor and pride to have the opportunity to lead such intelligent and poised women, and I will continue to ensure that members have positive experiences and have been positively impacted by the values that we live by.
