About the Gardens:

The Mariana H Qubein Arboretum and Botanical Gardens are located on the campus of High Point University, beautifying the grounds of HPU, and providing opportunities for inspiraiton, education, and leisure for the university community and visitors to the Gardens.

History:

The Gardens were founded in 2006 by HPU First Lady Mariana Qubein, who formed an Arboretum Committee to develop an Arboretum and Botanical Garden on campus. The First Lady has worked with faculty, staff, students, landscape designers, local garden clubs, and donors to create a campus-wide arboretum and botanical garden. In recognition of her vision and leadership in establishing the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, the High Point University Board announced the naming of the Mariana H. Qubein Arboretum & Botanical Gardens in late 2009. Though the Gardens began with just a single rose garden, with the help of committee members, the talented landscape team at HPU, and a team of dedicated students, the gardens have grown to include an extensive network of display gardens and horticultural collections. Now, the gardens boast 29 unique gardens, and continue to develop and grow with each passing year.
