Three Fine Dining Labs
1924 Prime, Alo and Kazoku are HPU’s immersive dining labs. Students develop business and social etiquette and learn global cultures and cuisines in working restaurants.
Undergraduate Research
Hospitality students have worked with faculty in HPU’s Summer Research Institute on how cruise passengers view AI in trip planning, how cultural competency affects booking decisions and how to increase engagement in online conferences, and they have presented at the University of South Carolina and in Anaheim, California. Paris Glover, a hospitality management major, researched human trafficking and the service sector. The Princeton Review gives High Point University a 95 out of 99 rating for professor accessibility, based on its student surveys.
Global Hospitality in Siena
In the 2026 Maymester, 20 students lived in Siena, Italy, with Dr. Marisa Ritter, studying cross-cultural communication with guests and employees. They toured Certosa di Pontignano, a 14th-century monastery turned hotel and event center, and met hospitality professionals at hotels, agritourism sites and a resort.
“Through this program, I learned how important it is for hospitality professionals to understand different cultures and communication styles.”
