A New Collection for Pharmacy Students and Faculty

Pharmacy library 1The Congdon School of Pharmacy Health Sciences Library has a new collection of pharmacy-specific resources. These materials are tailored to support the academic needs of students and faculty, making it easier to access materials directly related to the field of study. The library space is located on the 3rd floor of the Congdon School of Pharmacy, tucked into the corner of the hallway to the left of the administrative offices.

What’s New?

Over 150 eBook Cards: You can now access more than 150 digital books using eBook cards, which are physical cards with a synopsis of the book’s content. To view the eBook, simply scan the QR code on the card using your mobile device. The collection is organized into four main topics: chemistry, research, medication-related content, and patient relations.

Over 40 Physical Books: We have relocated more than 40 physical books to the Health Sciences Library. These books are Building Use Only and include drug information guides, pharmacology-specific texts, and topics of chemistry.

The collection is under development and faculty are encouraged to suggest additions using the faculty book order form (please indicate in the notes that you would like the item to be housed in the Health Sciences Library). You can also donate appropriate items to be added–just drop them off at the circulation desk at Smith Library or send them via campus mail to Smith Library Technical Services.

A catalog listing of items in the health sciences library is available here.

Informational Posters: We’ve mounted posters that provide guidance on useful topics like mobile apps for clinical practice, different types of studies, database search techniques, and the PICO clinical question framework.

Study Space and Support

The Health Sciences Library is also equipped with a whiteboard, a television with HDMI input, six desktop computers, and movable furniture. This makes it an ideal place for group study or practicing a presentation.
