Photography at High Point University

The Office of Communications keeps the visual record of life at High Point University — Convocation on the lawn at Roberts Hall, first-year students signing the Honor Code during Welcome Week, a dental student at the Haptic Simulation Lab, Commencement under 52 flags on the Kester International Promenade. University Photographer Lee Adams and a team of student photographers cover campus year-round so that your department, your program and your event have images worthy of them.

The University photo library Thousands of existing images of campus, students, buildings and events. Before you commission a new shoot, ask us — we may already have the frame you need.

Get Paid to Shoot for HPU

You will carry a camera into rooms most students never see. Courtside at the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena. Backstage at the Hayworth Fine Arts Center. The front row at Commencement, the first shovel at a groundbreaking, the moment a new building opens its doors.

Student photographers work alongside University Photographer Lee Adams on real assignments with real deadlines, and their work is published across highpoint.edu, University print publications and HPU social media. This is experiential learning in the most literal sense — you leave with a portfolio of work that ran.

What we look for

• Your own camera body and at least one lens
• A portfolio, website or Instagram we can look at
• Availability on some nights and weekends — that is when campus is at its best
• Comfort in Adobe Lightroom is helpful, not required
• Any major. We have hired from across the University.
