Four internal grant opportunities support work connected to the QEP’s emotional intelligence goals. Applications are open to current HPU faculty and staff. You’ll need to be logged into your HPU Microsoft account to open any of the forms below.

Programming and Services Grant
Up to $2,500 per grant · $10,000 annual pool
For co-curricular programs and campus services — workshops, peer mentoring, EI resource toolkits — that build emotional intelligence outside the classroom.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Grant
Up to $5,000 per grant · $10,000 annual pool
For scholarly projects that examine and strengthen EI-related teaching practices, including classroom strategies, course redesigns, and pedagogical interventions.

Faculty-Student Research Grant
Up to $1,000 per grant · $10,000 pool (undergraduate) / $3,000 pool (graduate)
For faculty- or staff-mentored research pairing a faculty/staff investigator with an undergraduate or graduate student researcher on questions related to emotional intelligence.

All grant recipients agree to present outcomes at an HPU-sponsored campus event within 12 months of project completion, submit a written summary to the QEP Office, and give a brief lightning talk update at the Spring Faculty Meeting or Faculty Retreat.
