The Office of Student Life is committed to providing resources for Students to ensure their residential experience is supportive and enriching.
Important Residential Resources
Campus Enhancement: Work orders to address maintenance concerns inside the resident halls can be submitted by visiting highpoint.edu and scrolling to the bottom to select Campus Enhancement under My HPU.
Information Technology Help Desk: IT tickets for problems regarding internet and cable connectivity, printers, and business center questions can be submitted through Blackboard under the “Help Desk” tab.
Student Health Services: Students can reach a medical professional at (336) 841-4683 and studenthealth@highpoint.edu, or make an appointment in person at 1300 University Parkway (Parkway Commons). Student Health Services is open Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. They also have a list of locations on their website for after hours if you need non-emergency care.
Security: Security personnel can be reached at (336) 841-9112 for lockouts or to report safety concerns.
Resident Directors: Resident Directors are professional, live-in staff members who oversee specific residential communities and can provide support for issues such as: roommate concerns, first-year transitions, and questions about resources on campus. Find your specific Resident Director here.
Resident Directors work in the Office of Student Life, on the third floor of the Slane Student Center, from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Resident Assistants: Resident Assistants are student staff members who live in each residential community to provide daily support and resources to students in their communities. Resident Assistants also serve on duty in the lobbies of their buildings from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM on weekdays and 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM on weekends. Resident Assistants on Duty can assist students with lockouts, roommate concerns, and can connect with professional support resources such as; Security, the Resident Director on Duty, and Counselor on Call.
After-hours Crisis and Emergency Resources

Resident Director on Duty: As professional staff members, Resident Directors also serve in an on-call rotation to support students 24-hours a day in crisis situations, particularly after business hours and on weekends when other offices on campus may not be accessible.
The Resident Director on Duty can provide support if:
- a student requires medical attention and transportation to a hospital
- a student feels unsafe on campus or in their living situation
- a student needs to report an assault, or an incident of interpersonal violence (i.e. dating violence or stalking)
- a student has a concern for the safety or well-being of another student
- a student has an emergency maintenance concern, such as flooding or lack of air conditioning or heat
