Parent 101

Parent 101: Preparing for Your Student’s Success is a parallel presentation to Student 101 designed to provide parents and guardians with strategic tools and strategies to support your student on their transition from high school to higher education. Parents are an integral element to our ecosystem of support at High Point University through a collaboration with University resources. Insights from key HPU staff will underscore the importance of academic autonomy, career and professionalism, and holistic development.

During move-in weekend, Parents are invited to join Parent 102: It’s Going to Be OK!, a continuation of this series as this transition becomes reality. This impactful session will prepare parents for propelling their student forward at High Point University by providing insight on what to expect throughout their student’s first year at HPU, including the moment when parents leave campus on Sunday after Convocation.

Housing 101

Housing 101 serves as an introductory session to HPU’s first year housing experience. This presentation held during Orientation Weekend explains our first year residential options for each incoming application type and allocation. An in-depth examination of housing communities, amenities and student testimonials of their residential experiences will help our incoming students choose their new home at High Point University. A step-by-step overview of the housing application process and timeline will be explained. Welcome Home!
