Located in one of the largest metropolitan areas in North Carolina, High Point University has direct ties with the community and many businesses in the surrounding area that offer many internship opportunities in interior design. Students also have the chance to participate in activities associated with the High Point Furniture Market, the premier furniture and design exhibition in the world, which is held twice each year during the fall and spring semesters. Many top industry professionals speak to HPU students at program sponsored events regarding marketplace trends and workplace expectations, giving our students unique access to some of the best minds in the field.

There are many opportunities for our students to enjoy challenging learning experiences that will last a lifetime, including participation in internships, interacting with professionals through speaking events and working on competitive projects with other students. The variety of options is comparable to those of a much larger university. Interior design graduates are prepared to enter the job market after graduation because, regardless of which major they choose, they are exposed to a variety of courses and experiences that will enhance their overall marketability to employers. As a result, they have flexibility in the workplace and are perfect candidates for promotions and lateral moves.
