Top Lawyers and Former Judges Commend High Point Law’s Inaugural Year

Seventy-two distinguished lawyers and former judges recently issued a “report card” to commend High Point Law for its extraordinary inaugural year of operation. The seventy-two signers included lawyers who have served as leaders in the bar; federal and state prosecutors and criminal defense attorneys; civil plaintiff and defense attorneys; members of the trial and appellate judiciary; and partners and associates at national and regional law firms.

The seventy-two lawyers and former judges highlighted some of the law school’s accomplishments, including an inaugural class of 72 students; research and writing classes of 10 students or less; 30 judicial internships secured by first-year students; the availability of appellate advocacy, community law, and veterans law clinics; and law students’ extensive interaction with distinguished lawyers and judges.

The report card also shared that High Point Law will move into its new 77,000 square-foot law school building this summer.

Reflecting on the report card, former Chief Justice and Founding Dean Mark Martin stated:

“We so appreciate this recognition of the extraordinary efforts of our students, staff, and faculty at High Point Law. As we move beyond our inaugural year and into our new building, exciting times are ahead for High Point Law!”
