General Information
The Pro Bono Program at High Point University Kenneth F. Kahn School of Law has been established to distribute, coordinate, and provide pro bono opportunities for law students at HPU Law. The goals of the program are to:
- Work with members of the bar to help fill the gap in unmet legal needs in the High Point area, the state of North Carolina, and beyond.
- Provide students with opportunities to develop the professional and technical skills necessary to practice law.
- Allow students to explore a variety of practice areas outside of the classroom, clinic, externship, or summer internship experience.
- Support students to develop a lifelong commitment to pro bono service.
What is pro bono?
The HPU Pro Bono Program defines pro bono work as voluntary, uncompensated, law-related work that is performed under the supervision of an attorney and assists low-income people or others who do not have access to legal services, or to otherwise advance the public interest, public service, or social justice.
