Dear Parents,
In the Student Government Association, we focus on building leaders and allowing a voice for students on campus. We do this by providing an opportunity for over 100 chartered campus organizations and clubs to present bills for funding different events, and opportunities in our bi-monthly senate meetings.
As the Student Government Association, we have been able to send students to leadership conferences, different countries to volunteer in needy communities, and provide funding for research, among other opportunities. We continue to see students each year grow as leaders, and be provided with opportunities they would not otherwise have. We appreciate our freedom to learn inside state-of-the-art classrooms from top professors. We strive to wake up each morning knowing that we are making a difference for someone or something.
Twice a semester, we hold a University Communities Affairs Board where we invite university officials to hold a conversation with students about the needs and concerns of the student body. We encourage every student to be an advocate, stand up and speak out. These boards have produced positive change on our campus, and will continue to provide an opportunity for students and administration to engage in discussion.
When representing the student body, we strive to produce a positive impact on the school and the world around us, while representing the values of High Point University. We encourage all students to participate in SGA. Every person plays their part in the greater whole, and no person is more important than another. We look forward to seeing students of all walks of life rise to build a better world.
We are excited to continue our work with our fellow students, and continue our vision with the university. Please visit our website for more information.
