Upperclassman Parent Perspective: March 2017

Your monthly connection to High Point University

It is never too early for students to start networking and building connections to land internships and jobs.

Students worked with “The Woz,” HPU’s Innovator in Residence, on many projects, including an autonomous mobile kiosk project they started last year.

Encourage your student to attend LinkedIn photo day on March 21 from 1:30 – 6:30 p.m. to get a free, professional photo to enhance their LinkedIn profile.

Innovation is in High Point University’s DNA, in part because we understand the true meaning of the word.

Senior Alex Gross accepted a position as an Account Executive at Gartner in Fort Myers, Florida.

Dr. Dan Tarara, the spirited mentor and chair of HPU’s exercise science department, guides his students to think about the importance of movement and motivation.

Local middle school students built robots and explored the world of STEM, thanks to an $8,000 grant from Daimler Trucks North America and Thomas Built Buses.

Watch a collection of insight and inspiration, including the best moments from the HPU/UNC-TV series hosted by President Qubein.

Join alumni, family and friends on April 4 as we celebrate #DayforHPU and SHARE what you love most about HPU, WEAR your Panther Purple and GIVE to HPU to support student scholarship!

In the Office of Family Engagement, we collaborate with families who wish to partner with us to enhance the educational experience for students at High Point University through the investment of their time and resources.

Please consider making a meaningful annual gift to the HPU Fund for Extraordinary Education. Regardless of the amount, your gift sends a powerful message that HPU families believe this institution is preparing each of our students for a life of success and significance. Additional engagement and philanthropic opportunities are available to those families who choose to join the Parents Council or the President’s Leadership Cabinet.

For families of senior students, we ask you to consider honoring your senior through the Leave Your Mark program. We hope that you will remain engaged with HPU after Commencement by joining the Forever Families Program. We also aid the Office of Career and Professional Development in identifying those families willing to FIND, FORM or FUND an internship experience for our students. Click here to learn more about how you and your company can participate.
