A Message From HPU President Nido R. Qubein; December 2019

Dear Parents,

I have often shared with you that HPU is a values-based institution – that we are an extension of your home.

During Christmas and the holiday season, this includes decorating the campus to reflect the warmth and love that you create in your own home.

Students appreciate the campus decorations, time-honored traditions, and simple forms of fellowship that center around the holidays. Our diverse and engaged student body celebrates the holidays with a sense of gratitude and openness. From the Lessons and Carols Service, to our Hillel Chapter Hanukkah Dinner, HPU students appreciate their differences while celebrating their faith and traditions together.

We are proud to witness the character of your student and their classmates at HPU through many philanthropic and service initiatives that seek to help families in need. While students contribute more than 100,000 hours of service throughout the year, their passion to serve during Christmas and the holiday season is amplified.

Even HPU’s Community Center, which we provide free of charge to community nonprofits year round, is active with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program as they prepare to serve 2,000 deserving children in our city. And after exams end, our annual Community Christmas Celebration welcomes more than 25,000 neighbors and friends throughout High Point and the Triad region to enjoy fellowship and our festive campus – just as your student gets to experience campus every day.

As the semester ends and you welcome your student back home, please know that our faculty and staff consider your partnership and advocacy a gift to be treasured. We are privileged to assist your student on this transformational journey and look forward to an extraordinary new year.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,

Nido R. Qubein
President
