A Message from Gail Tuttle, Senior Vice President for Health and Wellness

Gail Tuttle

Dear HPU Parents,

Together, we have grown so much this semester. We have continuously found ways to focus on individual health and wellness and your student is capitalizing their own journey, both in and out of the classroom.

It has been a time of transformation and caring for one another. Our campus has remained committed to crucial learning experiences inside and outside of the classroom to support the wellness and growth of your student.

Service is an important part of that and enhances your student’s emotional and social wellness with each opportunity. Each year, HPU students contribute 110,000 hours of service to their local and global communities.

This year started off with members of the Class of 2025 gathering to build bikes and surprise children in the community with a bike of their own.

Students have also been busy with many other locally-based service projects. For example, the Physician Assistant Department held a food drive to help stock the shelves of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina.

Last week, HPU celebrated Veteran’s Day to honor the heroes of our nation for their service. This is just one way HPU honors our veterans and celebrates our values as a God, family and country school.

I continue to be amazed with the thoughtful acts of generosity that our students display – how they live, how they serve and how they know that anything is possible.

And, as the holidays continue approaching, you will see more stories about students donating Thanksgiving meals and Christmas gifts to local families in our community.

In this season of gratitude, I am eternally grateful to be part of your student’s journey. This university has made me thankful for the eternal relationships that we have in the HPU family and community.

May we all embrace the blessings of Thanksgiving, and most of all, may we continue to learn and grow together.

Mrs. Gail C. Tuttle
