A Message from Dr. Daniel Erb, Provost

Dan Erb

Dear Parents,

The Fall 2023 semester is officially underway.

Summer 2023 may be winding down, but HPU students have been incredibly productive and active in pursuing their dreams and bettering themselves for the future. Meanwhile, we have been busy on campus preparing for the 2023-2024 academic year.

This summer, hundreds of High Point University students have completed challenging, exciting and rewarding internships all over the world, applying classroom learning to real-world situations. For example,

  • Meghan Flaherty from Maine scored internship experience on Capitol Hill performing legislative and administrative duties.
  • Preston Hoey from New York spent the summer with Coca-Cola Consolidated for an accounting internship completing tax returns.
  • Emily Stillion worked as a global merchant lending sales intern with PayPal for their small business lending and transaction services.
  • And Jonathan Raz spent the summer with Exlibris as a risk management analyst where he put his computer science major to work using software to assess and mitigate risks.

In May, HPU students traveled to 11 countries through 23 diverse and interactive programs. With new destinations added every year.

Additionally, more of our students worked with faculty members on campus this summer in a variety of undergraduate research and creative projects. Not only did students and faculty conduct research in the traditional sciences, but in areas such as game design and virtual reality as well.

We are excited about the coming academic year and we are so glad to have students back on campus. We are thankful for your support and partnership.
