Hello, I’m Dean Cain. You may know me as “Superman,” or maybe you’ve seen me in other family-friendly films.
I am grateful to work in the entertainment industry. But I’m most grateful for my son, Christopher. He’s a proud High Point University graduate. In fact, he’s currently pursuing his master’s degree in Communication and Business Leadership at HPU.
As a single dad, I can really appreciate families wanting the absolute best for their children. When it comes to colleges, parents want their students to be happy. You want your student to not only learn about theories, but you also want them to learn about life and develop the real, gritty skills that will help them succeed, even when it’s tough. Because we all know life will be tough!
I also wanted my son to be educated in an environment that was consistent with the values I’ve invested my life instilling in him. I used to think these values were widely held – values like hard work, gratitude, service, faith, and even patriotism. I was shocked when we first started visiting schools to discover that many did not acknowledge these values and some even actively dismissed the very values Christopher and I believe in.
Then we discovered High Point University. It was a dream come true! HPU became my son’s home, and I was happy about that because HPU focuses on all the right things, including practical knowledge, values to live by, and yes, a fun environment where students can grow, learn, and mature.
Take it from Superman – You don’t need x-ray vision to see the extraordinary value HPU provides to its students.
