HPU Provides Abundant Opportunities

Dear Fellow Parent,

My husband and I have to thank High Point University for an incredible ride over the past several years.

Our son Joshua graduated with a degree in exercise science and is went on to attend Duke University in pursuit of a doctorate in physical therapy. Today he’s a clinic director in Raleigh, NC.

He accomplished so much at HPU that there simply isn’t enough room to write it all. Joshua also helped begin the Musical Empowerment Program and served as its president. Together, he and his fellow HPU students raised thousands of dollars to purchase instruments for local children and provided free music lessons to them.

We were honored to attend their first recital the spring before he graduated, and we were completely humbled by the children and families who took part in the program.

Our son Greg changed his major halfway through his college career. He met with Professor Victoria Brown and realized that he could use his love of art to take a path in industrial design.

Greg was a catcher for four years on the HPU Club Baseball Team. He also worked the grounds at HPU, planting flowers and trees. Every time we visited, he was always so happy to show us all that he accomplished across campus to make it beautiful.

Our third and youngest son, Brandon, has also now completed his HPU journey and is working in sales in Nashville.

Before graduation, our sons felt as if they had left their mark on the university. Joshua looks forward to seeing the children enrolled in the Musical Empowerment Program continue to grow in their love and passion for music. Greg cannot wait to come back and see how big the trees he planted have grown. And Brandon loves keeping in touch with his sales professors who helped prepare him for life after college.

We have three HPU graduates, and we remain eternally grateful for the opportunities this university provided our children.

Sincerely,

Cathy Allen
