Dear Parents,
During these summer months, I hope you and your student are spending some quality time together. At the same time, I want you to know that High Point University loves and can’t wait to see your student!
We are committed to supporting their success year-round, and already we’re gearing up for the fall semester.
I want to remind you of some incredible resources HPU provides to help students throughout their journey – resources that can support your student when they join us this fall.
Here’s a glimpse of just a few HPU resources available to support your student:
Campus Concierge – The Campus Concierge remains committed to providing you and your student with excellent customer service and serving as a central location for campus information. Campus Concierge locations in the Slane Student Center, R.G. Wanek Center, Panther Commons and Cottrell Hall provide quick access for your student to receive assistance across campus. Both you and your student can email [email protected] or call 336-841-4636 with questions as well. Look for frequent communication from Concierge with important information throughout the year.
Learning Excellence – Learning Excellence is a comprehensive academic support program. The fee-based program is beneficial for any student who may need help with organization, time management, study skills, or strategies to help with learning differences. This impactful program of individualized support develops a learning action plan specific to your student.
Academic Services – The Academic Services team provides many complimentary benefits to your student, including tutoring and writing workshops. If your student finds they can improve their grades, papers or other assignments by utilizing these services, encourage them to view the options led by our caring team. We have seen many students improve their knowledge, understanding of complex topics and abilities by working with Academic Services!
Success Coaches and Academic Advisors – Success Coaches are a student’s academic advisor as well as their transition coach during their freshman year. Success Coaches assist students with choosing their major and navigating their class schedules to make sure they are on track for graduation and following a path to achieve their future goals! Success Coaches also assist freshmen in transitioning to the college community, getting involved on campus and developing a sense of belonging here at HPU. Beyond freshman year, each student’s academic advisor is here to assist them in crafting a class schedule and path to achieve their future goals as upperclassmen!
Global Education – We are excited to continue offering students exciting opportunities for international study as the world returns to travel. The opportunities offered through our Norelli Office of Global Education are plentiful and impactful. If your student is interested in future study abroad opportunities, encourage them to visit the office or contact [email protected].
Even throughout the summer, High Point University is always focused on student success. Know that your student will be part of a caring family this fall!
At Your Service,
Lauren Whitley,
Assistant Vice President for Communication Management
