The Bertram L. Podell Extraordinaire Cinema, located on the lower level of the R.G. Wanek Center, is one of the most popular features of HPU’s campus! Students can enjoy a variety of weekly movies, including new releases and box office hits. All showings are complimentary with a valid HPU Passport, as well as yummy movie snacks — popcorn, candy, and soft drinks.

Reserving the Bertram L. Podell Extraordinaire Cinema
- Meetings/Events [no films to be shown] Submit a reservation request via 25Live to secure the location for your preferred date and time.
- Movie Events [plan to show a film] First, submit a reservation request via 25Live to secure the location for your preferred date and time. Once your location is confirmed in 25Live, submit a Cinema Assistance Request [Coming Soon] to purchase movie rights and/or to secure a cinema attendant for your event.
- Educational Films [HPU Faculty] Shown for Academic Purposes Under the Teach Act, films/movies pertaining to coursework may be shown without being required to purchase film rights. For more on this process, click here [Coming Soon].
*Please note that it is illegal to show a movie in the Bertram L. Podell Extraordinaire Cinema without purchasing the film rights. All movie/film rights must be purchased through Swank [bringing personal DVDs, logging into streaming services, etc. is not an option].
