HPU housing is available in 5 tiers of accommodations, and costs will vary with options. Tier 1 housing is our standard accommodation and is included with our TFR and TFRB exchange agreements.
Tiers 2 through 5 will each require an additional supplemental fee.
Once you have been accepted to study at High Point University, we will begin the process of requesting on-campus accommodations from the Office of Student Life. More information about the process to apply for housing will be sent in your pre-arrival communications from the Program Coordinator. Housing confirmations are sent via HPU email before arrival to campus in August for fall arrivals and December for spring arrivals.

The High Point University Post Office is located on the 2nd floor of the Slane University Center, next to Starbucks. The post office provides campus mail boxes for faculty, staff, and students on campus and is where you’ll mail and pick up packages*. Aldridge Village 1 and 2, U-Ville, the University Center, Greek Village, Centennial Square, North College Court, North Collage Townhomes, or North College Terrace have mailboxes located at those facilities. Students will receive their mail at their hall.
*The post office service window is open only during regular business hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Dorm rooms are furnished with a bed, mattress, dresser, desk, and chair. Linens and other items are not provided. Additionally, some halls of residence are apartment style and are equipped with a stove, oven, microwave oven, and/or refrigerator, as well as living room and dining furniture.
During the first day of orientation, the Office of Study Abroad will provide transportation to Wal-Mart, a large discount department store where you will find everything that you need to make yourself at home in your dorm room.

If you are in need outside of office hours, contact HPU Security at (336) 841-9112.
The Office of Student Life will provide full check out procedures towards the end of the semester. Check out includes a walk through inspection of the residence. You will be required to return your keys before departing campus. Lost keys or damages assessed to your room will be billed to your student account.
During the first week on campus, you’ll be able to visit the Student Activities Fair where you can sign up for various clubs and activities. You’ll also be provided a student engagement calendar which shows what activities are scheduled for the semester. While some clubs may have dues or activities may have fees, many activities at HPU are included at no additional cost.
You’ll receive an email daily making you aware of upcoming events and the Campus Concierge is available 7 days a week to ask questions and help you register for campus and community events.
Student Health Services is located on campus in the lower level of Wilson Residence Hall at 805 Panther Drive (Building #21 on the Campus Map) and is staffed by medical professionals including a doctor. Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 5:00pm. Students can visit the office during open office hours or schedule an appointment by calling (336) 841-4683.
For after-hours care or emergencies, several offices and a hospital are located close to campus. HPU Residence Life Staff and Security can assist students in an emergency to get the assistance they need.
The High Point University Office of Counseling Services strives to provide assistance to students who may experience emotional, behavioral, and/or psychological problems during the transition into, or during, college life. As this is a time for change and growth, we recognize that it brings with it exploration of your ability to manage stress, build relationships, balance work and play and learn more about the person you are becoming.
High Point University students (who are currently enrolled in courses) may receive counseling services and there is no cost.
Counseling Services staff members are located on campus on the 3rd Floor of the Slane Center. Office hours are from 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday. You can reach them by phone at (336) 888-6352 or by email. Schedule an appointment as early as possible if you have concerns. As the nature of counseling must address emergency/crisis situations first. It’s best to not to wait to call until you feel you are in a crisis. If you are experiencing considerable distress at the time of your call, please make this known to the staff immediately.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are having a mental health emergency, please do not email us or leave a voice mail and wait for a returned call. We prefer that you receive help immediately. There is a counselor on-call for mental health emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or crisis Monday through Friday between 8:30am and 5:00pm, you may come to the Office of Counseling Services or the Office of Student Life on the 3rd floor of Slane and we will arrange for you to speak with someone as soon as possible.
After hours and on weekends, we encourage you to contact Campus Safety at (336) 841-9111 or call 911 if you are experiencing a mental health emergency. The on-call counselor will be contacted by staff and will reach out to you. If you are concerned that you may be in danger of hurting yourself or another person, you may go directly to the emergency room of UNC Regional Hospital, 600 North Elm Street High Point, NC 27262 or call 911.
