Choral Concert

Pauline Theatre in the Hayworth Fine Arts Center

Our annual Family Weekend Choral Concert will feature singers from all university choirs and present a wide variety of music. The University Singers, Chapel Choir, Women’s Chorus, Men’s Glee Club, and Chamber Singers will perform seperately, but come together at the end for an inspiring set of choral music classics.

Wind Ensemble

Get ready for a spine-tingling night of music as the High Point University Wind Ensemble presents a Halloween-themed concert – “Hallowinds”! Featuring haunting harmonies, thrilling soundscapes, and a few musical tricks and treats, this free concert promises fun for all ages. Costumes are encouraged —don’t miss this wickedly entertaining evening of frightful fun and fantastic music!

Percussion Ensemble

The High Point University Department of Music presents the HPU Percussion Ensemble, directed by Louis Raymond-Kolker. This program will include 21st century works for percussion, including keyboards, drums, and unconventional/found sounds.

Jazz Ensemble – Flying Home

As the saying goes “There’s No Place Like Home!” The HPU Jazz Ensemble is honored to perform as a part of Homecoming 2025! Our concert will take you on a journey inspired by the thrill and anticipation of “Flying Home”. Expect an evening filled with classic and contemporary jazz pieces that evoke the excitement of travel, the joy of reaching a destination, and the warmth of returning home. The concert will feature soaring melodies, exhilarating rhythme, incredible vocalists, and improvisational moments that transport you through the golden age of swing, bebop, and contemporary jazz.

Instrumental Chamber Ensembles

Fresh Picked

Empty Space Theatre in McInnis Hall

The High Point University Department of Music presents Fresh Picked, a concert of new music directed by Louis Raymond-Kolker. This program will feature the world premiere performances of music written by HPU music students, and will include performances of other notable pieces of music composed in the past few years.

Spring Community Orchestra Concert

April 25 | 7:30pm
Pauline Theatre in the Hayworth Fine Arts Center

Join the HPU Community Orchestra for an unforgettable evening of cosmic wonder as they present Gustav Holst’s epic masterpiece, The Planets, a powerful and imaginative journey through the solar system. This captivating concert will also showcase the extraordinary talent of HPU senior voice major, Gavin Conniff, winner of the 2025-26 HPU Student Concerto Competition. Enjoy a stunning concert that pays tribute to the splendor of the stars!

At this time, no tickets are required for our Department of Music performances. All seating is general admission, and we encourage you to arrive at least 15 minutes early to get situated allowing the show to start on time. Doors to the Pauline Theatre open 30 minutes before show time.

There is no photography, food or drink, texting, or telephone calls allowed during the show. Please plan to stay for the entire performance out of respect for the performers and fellow audience members. We reserve the right to remove patrons that are causing disruptions or not following these rules. Water in a closed water bottle is allowed.

Hayworth Fine Arts Center | Hayworth Chapel | Empty Space Theatre

We recommend that you enter at Montlieu Ave/University Parkway. For GPS enter Hayworth Fine Arts Center, High Point University. That will bring you to the gate leading to all three venues. Then park in the A/B lot.  Please arrive at least 15 minutes before show time. All shows are general admission.
